Modern Kriss Kross Blanket

Hi all

I hope you are all keeping well and safe. It has been a while since I posted anything.... No reason why, I suppose it is just the way life is at the moment... I  have not been cardmaking recently as my craft room has now become my my office too. To be honest once I have finished work I really  don't feel like spending my spare time in there too.  But I know I will soon have to start again soon  as I there are some special cards I need to make and the 'C' word will be here before we know it ...

However, I have really enjoyed my crocheting journey over the couple of  years.  I can sit in the evenings  and crochet while I  watch TV. It relaxes me and keeps me occupied.  I have created quite a few different pieces for people, from blankets to hats. It is so heart warming when something you have lovingly created goes off to a new home.

My latest creation I am particularly proud of, so I wanted to share it . I have just fallen in love with this pattern.  As far as I am aware there is no  pattern on the  www. for this design.. If there is one out there I have not seen it, but if anyone finds one then please let me know.

My inspiration came from Attic 24 (Lucy) and is a combination of her  Cosy Stripe Blanket  and the recent Meadow Blanket. I adore all her blankets and colour choices. I have been wanting to use the Criss Cross stitch for quite  a while, but I just couldn't find a pattern that I was right for me.  Hence my blanket was born .

A combination of the Criss Cross and treble stitch.

I just love the colours I used  too.  Paint box Aran yarn in the colours Paper White, Pistachio Green and Blush Pink

I hope you like the pattern as much as I do.

take care xx

Crocheting Away

 Hi all

Well it has been a long time since I last blogged. Not intentional .. I just don't know where the time has gone too .

I do hope you are all keeping  safe and well in these uncertain  times.

My crafting has really helped me over the past few months. My craft room has become my office at home.  So cardmaking has become quite restricting as I have to manovre  all my work  things. So crocheting  has become my favourite  pastime  and it is very therapeutic.  I thought  I would start to share some of the creations I have  made.

This is a beautiful baby blanket.  I just love the colours I picked. I will list them at the end of the post incase anyone is interested.

I used the wonderful  soft Stylecraft  DK yarn to make this cosy, snuggly blanket.

Colours used are;

Cloud blue

Sherbet

Soft peach

Duck egg

Candyfloss

Clematis

Wisteria

Wedding Cake Card

How are you all this week
We have been having the gas pipes replace in our area over the last few months and  this week  was our turn. My husband was around Tuesday but on Friday  they were connecting our pipe to the pipe in the road so I had the day off and spent some time in my craft room and created today's card. They turned the gas off on the morning and we were reconnected in the afternoon. Just all the holes in the road to fill now.

We have a couple of weddings coming up over the next few months so I thought I would make a start on the cards. I found  a stamp that I have never used so thought I would try it out, I am not sure who made it but it is grey unmounted rubber.
Here is one of the cards I made. I stamped it in a Hickory Smoke Oxide  and heat embossed it in sparkly embossing powder. I was hard to photograph for you as it is on pearl card too  but  I assure you it really sparkles in real life.

I have also had a visit to the doctors, as I have had a painful elbow  for months. I did go at the beginning of December and was told it was tendonitis and it should go away. Well it hasn't and its got worse. Even everyday tasks are so painful and the painkillers are not working. Well I am now waiting to have a steroid injection at the hospital. So it could be a few months until it happens. Until then I will keep putting the ice on it .
Well I am now going to try to catch up on some TV I have so many programmes to watch we are nearly out of storage and hubby is out playing darts so I can watch away.

Welcome Little One

Hi all
I know I have not posted anything for a while but life has been busy.
Our new grand-daughter has arrived. It was quite a turbulent few days leading up to her birth as mum was poorly, but she is here safe and sound and mum is well now. She is 3 weeks old today and absolutely gorgeous.
So I thought it only appropriate I should share this card with you and of course an adorable picture of her.

She is such a darling

The Make it craft show was back this year at Farnborough I went on Saturday and bought a few goodies. I was very good ( for me) a few more stamps were added to my collections of Honey Doo and Card-io. As I am now crocheting a few balls of wool came home with me too. A few more bits and bobs were added that I needed .. lol.. ok I just liked them. I spent a few hours Sunday having a play. The afternoon just whizzed by .. there never seems enough time.
I hope those of you who live in the UK are enjoying this lovely sunny weather we are experiencing at the moment. It was great to be able to get the washing out on the line at the weekend.
I must go as I need to catch up on the shows I recorded  on Hochanda at the weekend.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Baby Shower

Happy New Year to you all

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.
Well normality reigns again -the Christmas Tree is down and Molly one of our cats cannot sleep in it any more..lol.
But it was nice to also have time to do some crafting too.
Today's card I made for my step daughter Shona's  baby shower.

She is  expecting her first child at the end of this month a little girl. She has now finished work and trying to rest although she finds sleeping quite uncomfortable at the moment.
I knitted a lovely matinee coat for the little one.  I gave it to Shona over the holiday period and she absolutely loved it. It's been a good few years since I knitted anything like I was happy it it turned out as well as it did. As I have some more wool left I may do a cardigan for when she is older.
Here is a pic of it.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Bell Mask

Hi All

How is everyone are you ready for Christmas?
Here is another Christmas card to share with you today.

Using a bell mask I brushed various shades of green  oxide inks through the aperture. I stamped one of Phill Martin's verses in the centre of it. Then cut one of Sue Wilson dies and added Phill's paper pad behind it.

I complete it by using green PVA as pearl with glitter sprinkled over them while still wet to add a bit of sparkle.

Its my daughters birthday today I cannot believe she is 27. We all went for a lovely Chinese on Saturday to celebrate, and she has gone to be pampered at a spa today.

If I do not blog again before Christmas have a wonderful Christmas and peaceful New Year.
