Simply a Snowflake

Hi all

Thank you for your kind comments on my last post I really do appreciate you taking the time to stop by.

I have another Christmas card for you today.
A simple card but quite effective I think.
Simply the snowflake from Sue Wilson's Bold Snowflake matted and layered up on to the Falling Snow embossing folder
Great for batch making.

Isn't is getting cold at night we haven't put the heating on as yet but I did succumb to popping the fire on tonight.
My step daughter and her partner came over for dinner in Saturday it was lovely to see her she is 5 months pregnant and has a very small bump so far. She loves the blanket I crocheted for her.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week.

Christmas Tree

Hi all

Well it's been a long time since I posted anything. Since we lost Basil my mojo had disappeared as he would always be in my craft room with me. But I decided that it was time to knuckle down and make some Christmas cards, which to my surprise I have enjoyed creating.
I have been wanting to get a tattoo in memory of Basil for quite a while and when we went away for a  few days the other week  for our wedding anniversary I found a great tattoo shop in Weymouth and they turned my idea into a design. I will post a pic of it at the end of this post.
We are also going to have our first grandchild early next year so I have been busy crocheting a baby blanket which I have now completed and included a picture of that too.

So on to my card created using a Tree mask and Polar white texture paste which I sprinkled with Pixie powders while still wet.

I was rather pleased with the way it turned out. The texture paste has a sparkle to it. I hope you can see it in the picture.

Below is a the pic of my tattoo - just a day after it was done. I love it.
This is the blanket I crocheted. The wool is super chunky and very soft great for the new baby.
I am also 3/4 of the way through creating a throw for myself - I will post a picture once completed but I have started on another baby blanket now -so mine may go on the back burner for a while.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Weaving Card

Hi all
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Here is my first card of the year using Sue Wilson Intermediate die, which I purchased just before Christmas.

This is my first attempt at using this die and I must say I am quite pleased with the result.
I framed the weave with SW noble die collection and made a flower with Spellbinders cinch and go flowers, which I then sugared in Glitterbitz.
I was lucky enough to receive Tim Holtz stamping platform for Christmas - I have yet to use it, I hope to have some time at the weekend.
I have had my knitting needles out the last few weeks, which haven't seen the light of day for over 10 years lol.. my sister in law has me helping her knitting bonding squares for the local hospital. I must say I am really enjoying it and had forgotten how much like to knit. My daughter has already asked me to make a tea cosy for her..  Once it is completed I will show a picture of it.. but I have to start it first hopefully it will be this month.

Festive Fairground

Hi all
Back to my cardio- stamps again, a new firm favourite I don't think I will ever get tired of using these.
I used an old Spellbinders die to created the frame for my festive scene.
I used lots of glitter on this card too .
Not long now and December will soon be upon us I hope you are all on track with your Christmas cards. I still have a few more to do, but my inspiration left me this weekend so I took the dogs for a very long walk instead..

Thanks for your visit and any comments are greatly appreciated.

Walking the dog

Hi All

What a chilly start to the morning we had a really hard frost.
This is another card I created with my card-io stamps.

I created the hills from a torn scrap of card I used the versa colour ink in yellow and a touch of red ink to create the sunrise and black to create more hills. I then placed the deer and person walking the dog. I used my quickie glue pen to scribble on the hills and sprinkled glitter across the image.
I really love creating the different scenes as no two will be the same. I created a frame from black card using SW noble dies.

thanks for popping by I really do appreciate all your comments. Feel free to use the Pinterest button if you would like to save it.

Another card using Pixie Powders

 Hi All

I cannot seem to stop using Pixie Powders at the moment they are so versatile. I was only having a play with them (as you do) as I had some new colours and this is the card I  created from it.
I started by die cutting an old SP Vintage Lace border die out twice. I placed the two borders behind a strip of  coconut white Foundations card and mounted this on to a larger piece of embossed card.
For the focal element I used SW Maggie die and backed it with a piece of the Pixie Powders background. The sentiment is stamped  on to one of SW inner dies from her Melbourne die set with  one of Phil Martin's from his chalkboard range.
Again I Pixied some vellum and once it was dry I  die cut it with SW Camellia dies and popped a pearl in the centre of each flower.  I cut SW tree from her Family Tree die and then snipped into the branches up to create the foliage behind the flowers.

I was so excited on Monday and Tuesday as Julia Watts was on Hochanda and she had asked for people to send in cards that they had made using SW stained glass collection. I sent in two of the humming bird and they were both shown. I must admit it gave me such a buzz to see my cards on TV.
I did blog one of them you can find it here stained-glass-window-humming-bird
I need to take a picture of the other one then I will blog it. Julia has popped them in her gallery on her blog too. All the examples she received were lovely.
I hope you all  have had a chance to enjoy the weather I hope it doesn't rain too much this weekend.
Have a great week.

Owl be... Woodware stamp

Hi all
Happy May Day..
This Owl stamp is from Woodware. It is so versatile you can colour it in any medium and in a variety of colours. I thought this card looke great for a man so I gave it to my brohter in law for his birthday this weekend.
For this card I started by stamping the Owl in versmark and added CS black detail embossing powder. I then coloured the Owl with my promarkers.
I cut it out with SW square double pierced dies and mounted it on to black and then green card which I embossed with CE falling snow embossing folder.. (I told you this is my new favourite - the texture is gives is amazing it is so tactile).

Well I am back from training in South Yorkshire, a beautiful part of the country. I am back at work this week  and next week I am on annual leave only a few more weeks before I am made redundant.
My CV is written and I have joined a couple of agencies.

Silver Frame

Hi all

What a stormy last few days, I hope you have all have been safe and well.
This card was inspired by a milk and coconut white card on Julia Watts blog a while ago. I thought it looked so elegant I thought I would create one of my own.

I started by stamping the Delicate Deco Square stamp with versa mark ink and embossing with CE detail silver shine embossing powder. I have had this stamp for about a year but had never actually used it. I will definitely be using it again, its gorgeous.
I simply created layers using SW double pierced squares from both sets.
The sentiment is from Justrite and embossed in the same powder as the frame.
I am really pleased with this card and the shine from the silver embossing powder really makes its stand out.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by, enjoy your week.

My first Christmas card of this year

Yes - I thought I would try and set myself a goal of creating one Christmas card each month up to July so at least I can give myself a head start.

I recently purchased some Find It Trading Dies and this card is simply made from Amy design Christmas card set in white and aqua card. The sentiment is called the Spirit of Christmas and is beautiful.
I tried to create falling snow by using white acrylic paint and putting little drops if it on the card with my pokey tool. it sort of worked.

Not long now until the Make It show in Farnbourgh I am going on Friday 24th Feb. I have started to create my need it list lol.

To A Special Friend

Hi bloggers
We woke to freezing fog is morning.. Brrr !!
Well I'm another year older... It was my birthday yesterday so I thought I would take today of work as I have been working 6 days a week  and needed some time to catch up on stuff that was getting left, including my sleep lol..
We  all went out for a lovely curry on Saturday night and yesterday I had some time in my craft room, which is always good.
I made this card for a very good friend of mine, a lovely caring lady and a great listener.
This is my first attempt using John Lockwood's kitchen roll technique.
I used a lot of pixie powders for my Christmas cards and the kitchen roll was laying under the paper soaking up the excess.
I used this for my background which is sealed with glitter Modge Podge.
I made the card blank from Sue Wilson Ornate Pierced square from her Noble collection, which framed the background too.

The flowers are made from the same background from Spellbinders cinch and go flowers, completed by pearls in the center. The sentiment is on of John Lockwood's.

I hope you can see the glitter it was hard to photograph especially as the light has been so terrible recently with the weather being rainy and the grey skies.

Thanks for stopping by I really do appreciate you taking the time.

Warmest Wishes

Hi Everyone

I hope you all had a good week.

I made this card with an older Creative Expression stamp - the fantail dress  I still adore this stamp.
I coloured it in with pinks/lilacs from Tim Holtz distress inks I mixed them together to create my own colour.
I made a frame from SW noble dies. I used SW complete Camellia die and inked through them while the card was still in the die and seated it on ribbon.
I finished the card with pearls.
We  collected our daughters from Heathrow on Saturday evening as they arrived home from Iceland. They had a wonderful time, they went on the trip to see the northern lights  unfortunately they were not visible. But they went on other trips and they really enjoyed the blue lagoon.

Have a Great Christmas

Hi  Bloggers
How is everyone, one of my last Christmas Cards for a while.
I have used quite a lot of Pixie Powders recently and I must admit I do like using them. I used just one of the colours for this card the midnight blue.
I started by cutting SW bold snowflake die into white card to make a lovely background. I matted this piece over a the card I had already coloured with the CS Pixie Powder. ( I hope you can see the shine in the pics)
Next I created an oval frame from sky blue card to go over this background. I mounted this on to a piece of dark blue card.

I used the fall away 'waste' which is the actual snowflake around the edge of the oval frame, and popped pearls in the centre.
I mounted all this on to a piece of white card, which was edged with the Twinkles border die from Tattered Lace.
The sentiment is one of Phil Martins.

Thanks for stopping

Maggie's Christmas

Hi Everyone
I hope you all are keeping well.
Not long to Christmas now so I thought I would post another Christmas Card this week.

I used Sue Wilson Maggie die for my focal element and added SB layered poinsettias which I embossed with CS ruby red slippers brilliant embossing powder, It is such a rich colour I love it and completed them with black gems. I seated the larger one on to black ribbon, and added a few leaves to both Poinsettias.
I embossed a piece of white card with an embossing folder (a freebie)  and then matted and layered on to red then black card using SW double pierced squares.

Where do the weeks go, have you started buying your presents yet?
I have bought a few and I have my youngest daughter birthday just before Christmas too.

Purple Snowflakes!!

Hi Everyone
Well what terrible weather we have been having we have a wonderful puddle (more like a lake)  outside our house that nearly goes right across the whole road. I hope everyone is ok out there and has not been affective too much by the rain.
Anyway on to todays card
A combination of old and new on this card.
I have used one of Phil Martin Scribbled Snowflake verses for the focal element of this card. His sentiments are wonderful (note to self to add more of Phil's stamps to my wish list ) lol.
I still love the Elegant Labels four die from SB.
The snowflakes are from SW Bold Snowflake which are heat embossed with CS Brilliant Sparkles Frosty Dawn and Vivid Violet powders, with a pearl in each centre.
I think the colours are wonderful. I hope you can see the sparkle in the photos!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Winters Deer

Hi Everyone
How are you all.
The weather has turned really chilly and blustery today but it looked beautiful outside with the sun shining.

I just love the way this card turned out. A very CAS card.
The image is from Polkadoodle (the deer family) which I coloured in with my promarkers.
I added CS Glacier Ice at the bottom of the Deer's feet to give a winters feel to the card.
I framed the image with SW double pierced dies.
The card stock used is Milk and Taupe from CE teamed with brown from Limetree Crafts.
A great card that could be used for a winter birthday or a Christmas card.
Many thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Christmas Greetings

Morning All
I was really pleased with the way this card turned out (even my husband likes it!!)
I started by spreading silver glitter paste from Glitzcraft  through a snowflake mask on to acetate.
I left it overnight to dry and then mounted it on to some Foundation Sky Blue card from CE. I stamped Phil Martins Scribble Snowflake around the corners ( its in his verses set) and embossed with Silver Shine powder. I used SW double pierced square dies to frame it.
On the opposite corners I cut SW bold Snowflake in Coconut white and Sky blue card

The sentiment is from TL which I cut twice and glued one on top of the other then heat embossed with clear ink to give it a lovely shine.

For my Daughter

Hi all
I made this card for my daughters birthday, which was last Friday.

I can't believe she was 27 - where does the time go....
I started with the caught in crystal technique using alcohol inks on to acetate and adding Glamour dust to give it some sparkle. I'm not sure how well this comes through in the pictures.
I created a frame for this using SW oval frames from her festive collection ( the let it snow and the lattice snowflake die)

I mounted this on to some white card stock which I had embossed with a mask and ink through to make it pop a little more.
I then added layers of teal and white card cut from SW double pierced square dies.
The sentiment is computer generated. I then added SW complete Camellia flowers to complete the card.
Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy your week.
